Message from the President

Dr. Katherine Ntekim.

I am humbled to serve the Nigerians/Americans/friends of Nigeria in the South Florida area under the NAF organization Nigeria, being the most populous country in Africa has saturated its people to all part of the world and in that token, we have found some of those people in Miami Dade, Broward and Palm Beaches of Florida Nigerian American Foundation (NAF) is uniquely the prime platform that serves to exchange ideas and information to the growing community of new immigrants and the Nigerians born in the United. Under the leadership of our past presidents, many strides were made and we continue to build on those advancement. NAF shows its commitment to its members and collaborates with multiple sister organization to effect programs of community building. It forges healthy relationships through mentorship of members. NAF also shows passion in all its endeavors while maintaining the well-being of its members. There is equality in the participation all NAF’s business. Accountability and strength building is another goal that NAF maintain in upholding its mission and vision
NAF has undertaken the role of leadership in the South Florida area by seeking to build an African Museum of Arts and Culture (AMAC) in the city of Miami Gardens, upon a land given by the city of Miami Dade. Since this will be the first and only museum of its kind, there is much work to be done. The museum will not only serve as a learning center, it will also be a place of gathering and exchange of tradition and cultures from Africa In the wake of the corona 19 pandemic, a majority of great mind gatherings been put on hold. However, that does not stop the work of the community, hence the projects/events that NAF has for the year has to be planned subject to the scientists and governmental recommendations of the state of Florida NAF is facing a very remarkable time, bringing our elders and youths under one umbrella and grounding ourselves in the South Florida melting pot. We are very excited about the opportunity to bring Nigeria/Africa to America
